Baseball has long been a part of Puerto Rican culture, consistently producing some of the MLB’s top players. Unfortunately, natural disasters are just as common. In 2017, Puerto Rico was devastated by Hurricane Maria, which tore through the island leaving nothing in its path, including youth baseball fields. Since then, a combination of natural disasters and economic hardship has forced baseball to sit on the bench.
Pick Up Puerto Rico is a non-profit 501-c3 charity based in San Juan, Puerto Rico and was created by not only lovers of the game but this island as well. We are committed to fixing the fields and providing equipment to the youth so that we can kick start after school programs to keep the kids safe and to help them learn discipline and structure through the game of baseball. Help us rebuild these programs back to where they once were so we can continue to cheer on our future Puerto Rican baseball legends!
We all know the saying “time is money” and even though we appreciate any monetary donation. time is invaluable. we are always looking for help wether it be laying down chalk lines or helping out in the new snack bar, your time is always appreciated
Over 29% of the earth is covered in soil, but unfortunately, dirt ain’t cheap. Among other supplies that will be needed to rebuild these fields, feel confident in knowing that 100% of your donation is going directly into building these children’s field of dreams.
