Baseball has long been a part of Puerto Rican culture, consistently producing some of the MLB’s top players. Unfortunately, natural disasters are just as common. In 2017, Puerto Rico was devastated by Hurricane Maria, which tore through the island leaving nothing in its path, including youth baseball fields. Since then, a combination of natural disasters and economic hardship has forced baseball to sit on the bench. Pick Up Puerto Rico was created by not only lovers of the game but this island as well. We are committed to fixing the fields and providing equipment to the youth so that we can kick start after school programs to keep the kids safe and to help them learn discipline and structure through the game of baseball. Help us rebuild these programs back to where they once were so we can continue to cheer on our future Puerto Rico baseball legends.
